The verdict will be out today! After the release of More Life from OVO rapper Drake this weekend, I cannot wait to hear people’s opinions of the album. I am positive that we will be preview to an influx of social media uploads (guilty!) of people quoting their favourite lines from the multitude of songs.
Rachel releases visuals for her song To You. The song which was the intro to her Blue Moon EP is a very soulful sensual song.
You will be enticed by her vocals and lyrics, To You is sexual in a very classy and emotive way. It is talking about giving into your man in the most vulnerable yet sensual way!
Vocally her voice is beautiful, profound and deep. Her voice is enticing and somewhat melodic, the beat is tantalising filled with classy instrumentals that complement the sound and her vocals.
The video is simple and personable. In black and white, you see Rachel looking beautiful, singing the lyrics to her song with great emotion and passion.
I Absolutely loved the latest interview from The Breakfast Club! Ed Sheeran dropped by once again, a friend to the show, Ed has visited the show on a few occasions.
Angela Yee was not part of the interview but it did not disappoint! DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God put Ed at ease with a couple of shots, actually more than a couple of drinks! They were drinking, conversing, and engaging in laughter!
Ed broke down a few songs from his latest successful chart topping album Divide. To date, Divide is the fastest selling album by any male artist in history! The singer / song writer has achieved a few number 1 singles and the album has charted at number 1 across the globe! Congratulations Ed!!
In this interview the collective spoke about Sheerans 12 month gap year from the music industry and the reasons and importance behind it. They dissected and broke down the meaning of various songs to get an understanding of his thoughts and feelings whilst writing the songs. Ed spoke about a time he smoked a Cigar with rap legend Jay , partying with DJ Khaled in Miami and many more!
A fun informative interview. Check it out below!
East London multitalented rap and singing duo Mvngo & Lashes have released their debut EP titled Solution.
The 4 track EP features songs:
I Like To Think That
Enemy Of Myself
The intro to the EP is subtle, you hear Mvngo speaking in a soft voice, releasing some spoken words over a classy, yet romantic beat. Followed by Lashes who continues rapping and singing. The message is potent, on of love and its power.
Secondly followed by Naked Truth, a song that speaks about transparency. Being honest about one’s feelings, rather than toying with another’s for personal gain by stringing them along! The singing is beautiful! The variety within their voices and the difference in ranges, clearly showcases their abilities as artists, which is incredible to hear.
Enemy Of Myself, is the 3rd track from the EP. A tune that draws similarities to that old-school grime rap style which Lashes executes very well whilst rapping. The rhythm is upbeat, the beat has more of a pop feel but with a concoction of instrumentals making the song catchy and energetic. A very positive song filled with encouragement and empowering messages!
The 4th and final song is Stoosh, a song previously reviewed. The song is reminiscent of that old-school Hip Hop early 90’s New York sound. The beat is extremely dope! Lyrically very informative, there’s a lot of emphasis and character in both their deliveries.
Overall a great debut project, they duo did not come to play! They showed exactly why they will always be doing music.

And the Donkey of the day goes too…. Nicki Minaj and perhaps Remy Ma too?
Two of the best female rappers, both from New York. Nicki from Queens and Remy from the Bronx, both parties have been throwing subliminals for some time now. Recently Nicki featured on Gucci Mane’s Make Love song, Nicki threw what looks like direct shots aimed at Remy Martin. You decide from the below lyrics taken from the song!
“First I’ma scorch her, then I’ma torch her
Then I’ma torture her, then I’ma off her
A million dollars for a show, they made their off-er
Go against Nicki, it’s gon’ cost ya
‘Cause now it’s fuck ya, intercourse ya:
Remy clearly felt attacked, she decided to release one of the most disrespectful Diss tracks of all time! Lyrically she brought her A GAME! She held nothing back, a 7 minute diss track! Remy did not miss a beat, bar for bar she demolished her aponent! The diss track titled Shether inspired by rapper Nas’ Ether can be heard by clicking on the below link.
Here’s a few bars from Remy!
Nicki Minaj has yet to respond back with lyrics, but has been throwing her own jabs via her social media which has not impressed fans of Hip Hop music. Hence being the recipient of the Donkey of the day!
Hopefully for the sport of rap battle and Hop Hop Nicki can come back fighting!
